About MeHello again and welcome! My name is Martha Isacco. I am a Special Educator here at Urbana Middle School. This is my ninth year teaching. I spent my first seven years teaching elementary school in Prince George's County. I'm thrilled to be in my second year in Frederick County. I have taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade in the past.
A bit about me outside of teaching: I was born and raised in Columbia, MD. I attended college at the University of Dayton (go Flyers!) and am currently working towards my graduate degree in Instructional Technology at the University of Maryland University College. Prior to my career in teaching, I spent several years as the manager for a small chain of independent pharmacies. I come from a family of teachers: my mom teaches third grade, my sister teaches second grade, and my brother and sister-in-law both teach high school, all in Maryland. When I'm not teaching, I am an avid reader. My absolute favorite books ever are the Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling. I also love to run and have completed several half-marathons and marathons. I spend a lot of time with my family. We have two parents, ten children and spouses, and eight grandchildren, all who live locally. Finally, I'm a big sports fan. I love the Orioles, Redskins, Steelers, Capitals, Dayton Flyers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I attend several sporting events every year. I love my life, both in and outside of school. I am busy but committed to the things that are important to me! I look forward to working with all of you. |
